NICKLAUS CHILDREN’S SUMMER CAMP

Categories: News

Camp DMC is a summer program for children with special needs run by Nicklaus Children’s Dan Marino Outpatient Center.

The objective of Camp DMC is to provide a fun-filled, educational and behaviorally therapeutic curriculum while enhancing each child’s academic skills, functional communication, fine and gross motor skills and social interactions.

Our Chapter was selected as an organization to conduct an 8-week program during the summer!

Jamie Tarshis, Rehabilitative Service Director commented, “The campers at Camp DMC LOVED their weekly golf lesson with Coach Rob and his team. The coaches met the individual needs of each camper and highlighted their ability to engage in the lesson. There were tons of positive praise and high fives when the camper swung the club, hit the ball and achieved the goal! I look forward to another summer with The First Tee as our partners and continuing the golf experience for our campers.”
