CC OF CORAL SPRINGS WINS MARATHON GOLF BELT

Categories: News

Our Chapter partnered with local country clubs to hold CMAA Marathon Golf over the summer that was a fun, energizing event where club staff, members and Chapter supporters helped to raise significant funds for our programming in Broward County.

The Country Club of Coral Springs won the Inaugural 2019 Champions Belt as the top fundraising club in Broward County. Led by Chapter Director and Coral Springs member, Buddy Mansor and PGA Professional Corey Henry, they led the charge to raise the most money of all the clubs that participated. “Everyone had a fantastic time. As daunting as it sounds to play 100+ holes in one day, Marathon Golf is much easier and much less physically challenging than it sounds,” commented Brian Anderson, Chapter Vice President and Marathon Golf Chairman. “Our most common response from Marathon Golfers at the end of the day has been: This is the most fun I’ve ever had in my life on a golf course. Count me in for next year!”

Below are the top 5 fundraisers and the course they played:

1. Anonymous – $7,005 – Fisher Island CC
2. Adam Speigel – $5,891 – Parkland Golf and CC
3. Buddy Mansor – $5,207 – Ballen Isles CC
4. Bobby Fournier – $4,795 – Frenchmen’s Reserve
5. Olive Marano – $4,326 – St. Andrews CC

A very special thank you to our participating golf courses of Country Club of Coral Springs, Grande Oaks Golf Club, Weston Hills Country Club, Lago Mar Country Club and the Tower Club, along with the 30 Marathon Golfers for bringing in 515 pledges that totaled donations of $62,000 for our Chapter.

Also, huge SHOUT OUT to our Marathon Golf Chairman Brian Anderson and Volunteers Krista Kersey, Robert Bartholomew.
